WELCOME ADDRESS

MMA Perak Branch is deeply humbled that we have been given the opportunity and honour to host the 60th National MMA Convention and Scientific Congress 2020.

The initial task upon being selected as host state was to form a committee with a unique blend of experience and youthful enthusiasm. Dr Harvinder Singh has been elected as Co-Organizing Chairman owing to his various roles and contributions to MMA, both at the state and national level.

Next on the list was to select a suitable date and venue. Special considerations were given to the holy month of Ramadan , the needs of members and constitutional requirements before selecting the dates and venue. This annual premier event will be held at Casuarina@Meru from the 11th-14th of June 2020. The venue is just a short drive from Ipoh city centre. Ipoh has always been a food haven, offering an array of mouth-watering culinary delights. In addition, it offers a unique blend of rich history and culture while beautifully embracing the pace of modern development.

Delegates could opt to reside at the convention venue or at the various hotels within the city limits and shuttle to the convention venue. Shuttle service to the convention venue will be provided from designated pick-up areas and specified times.

In line with recent efforts by MMA to provide a comprehensive convention, special emphasis has been placed on providing an enriching scientific programme. This event will include a two-track symposium comprising medical and surgical lectures in addition to hands-on workshops. CPD points are guaranteed and the convention would be an ideal final platform to secure these points before the CPD calendar year ends on June 30th 2020.

Various social events and outdoor activities have been planned for members, spouses and their families to ensure no one is left out. Executive lounges and exclusive fellowship areas have been designated for members to interact and mingle with friends, both old and new.

Due to the overwhelming response received at the 59th National MMA Convention held in Putrajaya, we have increased the registration limit to 600 pax. Registration closes once we reach the limit of 600 pax.
